It's been "fun" but the camping trip is nearly over. Dirty, dusty and tired but heading home. On the down side, due to this being a work function, can't just pull over on the drive home to stop and smell the roses. And by roses, I mean log a cache. There's one on a bridge we drive across but won't be able to stop and look for it.
Oh well, maybe in another lifetime. I doubt I'll ever be out this way when it's not for work.
Been quite busy going backwards and forwards, and trying to wear several hats at once. On the plus side, still have my phone. On the down side, missed a few meals due to being out trying to get things done - but nothing I'm not already used to.
Not sure exactly how long I'll be out here for but probably until sometime next month.
Very much looking forward to going home.
Bit of a drive, now home with the family. Pets have gotten bigger, fish have gotten more colourfull and life is good.
After about five or so weeks away, now back home again. <3
Was good to spend time on the road driving (though the seat did get quite uncomfortable after a while), was not so good spending time in the dirt and being grotty.
I took some writing stuffs with me, in case I wanted to write things down, but got down exactly zero words. Didn't help being constantly distracted...
But the important thing is I'm home again.
Back home again, with my family. Good to be back in the north end, away from the cold. Shouldn't need to go back south again for work this year.
Next year... that's a different story.
Been home for two days so far and thoroughly enjoying it. Been so long, since April that I've been home. Loving it. Coming home is so awesome.
So excitement!
In a few hours I'll be boarding a plane and flying home to spend some much needed time with my family.
Very much looking forward to it, and going to relax as much as possible.
Got the gutters cleaned and a few other little things done. Just need to run a bit of wire and then I can relax for the rest of the day.
Not that I've been working particularily hard at the moment anyway. :)
I've been pretty good and focussed at work for the last ... what, six months? Seven? I've been focussed and managed to not let being away from my family get to me.
My lovely wife was doing some work cleaning out the shed at home and put up some pictures on FB.
Got hit with a massive wave of homesickness.
Wouldn't have thought that some simple photos of what is essentially a bare cement floor would affect me so hard. Feeling really blue right now, just gotta buckle down and stay focussed.
