The cursed video clip...

Okay, so as mentioned in the last post, we've been doing a video clip for a local band. It's part of a prize package that they won in a contest that we sponsor (we're one of many sponsors).

Anyway, the clip was meant to be done in the middle of last year, but there were many delays and setbacks all over the place. People getting sick, schedule conflicts, tours, blah, blah, blah.

Then this last long weekend we finally got around to filming. Had to use a hire camera since the our gear is in Sydney at the moment. The idea was to film in Friday night, check the footage, film anything else that was needed on Saturday night and then edit on Sunday and Monday.

The shoot itself was pretty quick, but spent most of the day Saturday trying to get the data off the camera and onto the computer. Took the camera around to a mate's place and checked it there - nada. Turns out that the firewire port on the camera don't work.

So spent Monday sitting around twiddling the ole' thumbs and then on Tuesday morning returned the camera. The hire place was pretty nice about it and they are transferring the footage onto HDD for us.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow, so we'll see then how the saga continues.

Summer in the City

It's Australia Day (or at least it was yesterday) so, Happy Birthday Australia!

Spent the time making a video clip for Harlequin League. All the footage has been taken and editing will be starting soon. Once editing is done, I'll have to mail it to Sydney for post-production but it should look snazzy once it's all done.

Wanted to get all patriotic and looked for some of those little flags that you can put on the windows of the car. Turns out that everyone else decided to get patriotic as well, since everywhere I looked was the same story - sold out!

Oh well, maybe next year.

We had a big spring cleanup the other day and the house feels eerily empty. I had a lot of large boxes, some big home-made PA speakers and a couple of other things taking up space that I never used so we ended up chucking those out and now I have enough room to turn around in.

Amazing!

Other than that, I'll be joining a gym this week and hopefully be looking (slightly more) buff in a few months.

Well, it's the start of another year.

So far, it's all been fairly quiet. Got back to work, cut off my long hair so I look respectable(ish) again and gone back to being a social hermit. Maybe if I didn't spend all my time with my nose in front of the computer I'd meet more people. Damn, I'm so anti-social.

The latest project, loneverse.com is coming along nicely. I've got one new story up this year (albeit a short one) and I'm working on another. I'm hoping to have two or three each month, but we'll see how that goes. It's talking a lot of my time away from other things, so my main site hasn't had any new articles in a while. I had originally been hoping to add a new article each Sunday, but that was overly optimistic.

I have a couple of photos from the trip and of my new hair-do to share, but I haven't gotten around to getting them off the camera and into the computer yet.

No other real news to report.

I am soooo boring...

First post for 2008

Yay, and another year starts.

Back from holidays, I'll have a bit more information available soon. I'll also start working on my 'resolutions' as posted in the previous thread. We'll see how I do with those.

I might add "practice drumming more" except that I don't have enough room to set up the drumkit (nor am I likely to have room anytime soon either) and there's no volume control so I don't like to practice when there are other people around.
