Three weeks

It's getting closer! Down to the three week mark, each day is another day less.

The biggest issue right now is getting all my stuff sorted out. Thrown out lots of my stuff which has been piling up over the years. Sadly, some of the stuff I've had to throw away has been useful stuff or at least it was potentially useful - but I won't have the space or the ability to use it soon. I've also sold off a lot of stuff including nearly all my computers. I'll be downgrading to just having the laptop.

I'd rather have a bigger, more powerful computer - but lack of space is an issue. Also, I'm not going to be doing any video editing or playing high end games anytime soon, so there isn't a real need for it. It'd be a luxury item, and we will have more important things to spend the money one.

Out of the seventies

Another day down, more days yet to go. Counting down towards the wedding and we are out of the seventies and down to the sixties.

Dang, over two months left to go. Seems so far away...

Dang, just over two months left to go. So much left to organise and get ready. Not sure we'll have enough time.

In other news, the fuel pump in my car was leaking. Got it fixed and now there is no more petrol smell in my car. And my fuel economy has gone way up. Yay.

Time slows down

Well, I'm certainly looking forward to the wedding. Tania and I will be getting married in September and for both of us are finding that time has slown down!

The days are dragging out, and the wedding seems to be soooo far away. I know I can't wait for the wedding. And Tania has also said that she is getting impatient.

Well, not much else to report today. Making slow progress with cleaning up and throwing out all the old junk that I no longer need and will not be taking with me when I move in with Tania.

Damn it's cold

Had to get up early to drop mum's car off at the mechanic. Had ice on the windows which I had to scrape off before I could drive. Gah, not happy. I'm definitely not a cold weather person. No winter ski holiday for me!

Quest success!

It didn't take too long but did involve a bit of driving around. But the slow combustion wood heater has been fixed and Tania's house is warm again.

We ended up driving to Northam since it is closer to Wundowie than Perth or even Midland. We found a glazier who was able to cut and supply the heatproof glass, and a different chimney shop that was able to supply the other parts like the ceramic rope.

Overall, a good day's work.

There is always more to do. I want to go back to her place again today and help her out with a few more things but one of our cars here needs to go in to the mechanic. So I need to be near the house this afternoon when it is ready for collection.

Finding fire

I have been assigned a quest: find a replacement glass for Tania's slow combustion heater. It was broken recently so the house is cold. I was hoping to get it sorted today but I had to drop the car in at the mechanic.

I think that what I will end up doing is getting the research done today to try and track down where to get the glass and ceramic rope today, then pick it up tomorrow...

In other news, I was picked for a random swab for explosives when I went to the airport yesterday. Fairly straightforward, just stand still while they run the wand over me and stick it into their machine.

Didn't think I looked that dangerous...

Engaged!

How excitement!

Through a convoluted process, I started dating a lovely lady about two months ago. In an interesting twist, she asked me out rather than the more common way.

We dated for about six weeks and I knew she was the one. I couldn't bear the thought of not having her by my side. So I proposed to her - and she said yes! Happiest day of my life.

I haven't been able to stop grinning since!

I've lusted after females before and I thought I'd been in love before, but I've never felt like this. It is such a strong emotion. I can hardily contain myself. I feel like I understand now why Tom was jumping on Oprah's couch...  <3

First update in a long time...

Wow, it's been a while since I updated this! So many changes in the last couple of months and been so busy I haven't had time to blog about it. Not that anybody reads this anyway! At the moment I'll have more free time as I've just finished with my prior job. I'm planning to relax and recover and gain some weight back for the next two weeks until the end of the financial year here in Australia. After that I'll need to kick my backside into gear and get to work. I'm engaged!

Zumba!

Well, managed to get down to the usual Tuesday evening Zumba class, so that's a nice bit of exercise right there. Will be interesting to see what I can pull off tomorrow.

Still haven't written anything - unsurprisingly. :-(

Oi vey...

Today I was meant to get some exercise seeing as it's my day off, and do a spot of writing.

I failed at both - just sat at the computer most of the day eating chocolate. :-(

Obviously I'm not cracked up to be a writer. I don't have the passion for it. If I was a halfway driven writer I could have written almost three quarters of my million words since I started writing in 2007. Instead, I only have my very first NaNoWriMo novel and three half-hearted stories. And a site "devoted" to my stories ... with nothing on it.

*sigh*

Now I want to sit down and eat chocolate to make myself feel better again.

Well, I need to head out now, so I'm out of time to write and I'm out of time to exercise. I really need to stop making piss-poor excuses and just write. I even have a sticker that says "You've got better things to do!" on my monitor so I can see it when I'm piss farting around on the 'net.

iSuck

Blargh... didn't even come close this week.

Managed to get in a jog on Monday and went to Zumba on Tuesday as normal. However, the rest of the week was a wash - either due to me getting home tired, having things that needed to get done urgently when I got home or just getting home really late (I did a 12 hour day yesterday).

So far, I don't believe I've lost even a quarter inch off my waist - hardly surprising since I haven't been exercising as much as I want to.

Well, there's always next week. Normally I'd say "start today", but today is Sunday.

Got my groove on

Tuesday night, managed to get down to Zumba as planned.

That means managed to get some good exercise on Saturday, good job on Monday and now a good workout at Zumba on Tuesday. Wednesday will be the hard one, as I may need to work late. But at the least I ought to jump onto the exercise bike for half an hour or so before dinner.

Looking good so far....

Second Day

Well, doing good so far! Managed to go for a good jog for around an hour this morning. Though I may have gotten a little sunburnt.

I tried using the built-in stopwatch function on my phone but it cuts out if you exit the app and do something else (like check sms). Had a look at some track-my-exercise apps but didn't see one that I liked. Either too complex or do things that I don't want (why would it need access to my contacts?).

However, have to keep up the exercise now. Zumba tomorrow night, so Wednesday will be the interesting day.

New year, new month

And some old story.

Zero updates for January... :(

Here's some new items from my life:
  1. I've gotten off Facebook (mostly). I deleted my photos and most of my content off there now that it's going to be a publicly traded company. I still keep a presence on there and check on it since that's where everyone is.

  2. I've started exercising again (again [again]). I've lost track of the number of times I've re-started exercising. Had a nice job on Saturday, will do another job on Monday and then Zumba on Tuesday.

  3. Valentines was a complete wash again, keeping my unblemished record of failure. On the flip side, I worked 13 hours on Val's day, so at least I had an excuse.

  4. I have a smart phone, so I'll see if I can find an App to help track my jogging.

Really? That's all the new news for the last two and a bit months? No wonder I'm single. Might have to have a crack at updating Loneverse again.
